Tier 2

The Sensory Workstation

At Tier 2, the student may need a little extra stimulation than what can be accessed through the Universally Designed Learning Strategies and the activities of a typical classroom.

Tier 2 is a small population of students within the classroom, making up only 2 or 3 students in a typical classroom. These students are provided sensory items at their desk, converting their area into a sensory workstation. Use of the prescribed sensory items throughout the day helps to keep the students' sensory needs regulated and reduces outbursts or other disruptive behaviors.

The Occupational Therapist is a great resource for finding the ideal matching fidgets and seating for the student to use for sensory regulation.
